Checking out '93 Kawasaki ZR1100 tomorrow-- what to look for?
I'm going to look at a '93 Kawasaki ZR1100 tomorrow right after work. The 15 mpg Suburban is getting too expensive to keep filling.
The pics below are from when my friend Dave owned it. My boss bought it from him and dropped it over at about 15-20 mph. ( front end washed out after he came over an old "launch" bridge) It has 18,200 miles on and still looks pretty good. The only thing still damaged is a small dent in the tank. Anybody have one of these or know what to look out for? Comments are appreciated Thanks Jeff |

Looks nice. The March, 1993 issue of Motorcyclist has a short blurb about the 93 ZR. "The classic styling hearkens back to the '70's and the legendary Z1, but what lies beneath is throughly up-to-date. Although based on the proven power plant in the ZG1200 Voyager, the air-cooled, 1062cc, in-line four is all-new. The engine is counterbalanced to reduce vibration, the power train features a hydraulically actuated clutch with back-torque limiter, five-speed trans and chain drive." The list price was $6999 and the wet weight was 534.

Looks clean and with what else is in the garage means he probably knows how to take care of things.

Bike looks mint!
But I find myself wandering to those other toys in the garage...

I thought those FJ40's were pretty cool, especially after one pulled out my Suburban from a ravine in central Arizona. But then I drove one.
Did you buy the bike? |
